Women's Wear Daily announced today that Evisu will be replicating limited edition versions of the Levi's 1944 501 jeans, the 1890 "Nevadas" and the 1917 "Campbell" jeans under the "Evisu Private Stock" label. Under 1000 pairs total will be manufactured at prices $358, $588 and $758 respectively. When I lived in Japan, Levi's and Western culture in general were placed on a pedestal of honor and admiration. Similarly, Evisu wishes to honor the true origins of denim through this extremely exclusive collection. Available in August, the pristine pairs will be packaged in wooden boxes available at evisu.com, Barneys, American Rag, Atrium and Fred Segal.
