Levi's Billboard: We Are All Workers

I haven't owned a pair of Levi's since middle school but I often find myself entranced by their out-of-home campaigns. See below for their innovative billboard off E Houston and Mulberry St.

Gilty Pleasures: Band of Outsiders.

On sale today at Gilt Man.

Founder Scott Sternberg is an underdog inspiration for those looking to start their own fashion business. An alumni agent of CAA in LA, Sternberg did not have a fashion background but simply a passion for a new creative venture. Now he heads an exclusive brand sold in Barneys, curated on the same floor as Thom Browne.

"Someone's gotta bake the donuts."

About Town: Japan Fashion Now @ the FIT Museum

"All roads lead to Rei," as in Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons. Sharon Graubard of Stylesight describes Japan's heavy influence in contemporary fashions seen in raw edges, deconstruction and silhouettes moving away from the body. As an homage to the cult-following of Japanese fashion, the FIT museum is showcasing top designers like Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake with their influences today seen in Western examples such as Proenza Schouler's ombre silks and Rick Owens' black layered runway looks.

Exhibition through January 8, 2011.
@
Seventh Avenue at 27th Street
New York, New York 10001-5992
Tues - Fri Noon - 8pm
Saturday 10am - 5pm
Closed Sundays, Mondays, and legal holidays.

Admission is always free.

"'The field in which we wear clothes is all outdoors.'

One, design. Two,utility. Three, technology. The imagination to fuse these elements together. The attitude of not submitting to sales or market needs."

The down/blazer hybrid on the right is like whoa (or whoa?):

I am most interested in the androgynous nature of this coat...or at least how it's stylized in photos:
