Recessories: Skeleton Key Bracelet

After my gig in Japan, I became a bit obsessed with skeleton keys because I would see them everywhere embellished on necklaces, purses, bracelets and jackets. I make my own using a wooden key and leather cord from M&J Trimming and truly antique keys from the Brooklyn Flea Market (courtesy of a thoughtful birthday gift). Please be warned: if you dare adorn this on your arm unsuccessfully, people will most likely think you're a pirate...or gravekeeper...or even better, LARPING. For more info about larping, watch this informative documentary, Monster Camp, about people who you never knew existed...until now.

Raf Simons: Block Party

Well-versed in industrial design, Belgian-born Raf Simons proves to be stunning in his clean lines and geometric simplicity. Take a gander at some of my favorite looks from his F/W 2010 collection complete with color & texture blocking. If UNIQLO couture, Tetris and a trench-turned-oversize-pair-of-shorts made babies, this is what they'd look like.

Catwalk Canines: Posh Pomeranian

Do I even have to comment on why this dog is fierce? I'm entranced by his ability to combine Donald Duck and Harajuku girl chic into the perfect marriage, one even more perfect than that of Lucy and Ricky.

Eye Want: Tartan Suit

If styled and fit right, a plaid suit can be the ultimate display of confidence and personal style. Perhaps the epitome of dandy, this investment is sure to be outdated in less than 2 years. I've been eyeing a wool skinny plaid suit in the fabric swatch below at Top Man for about $300.

Inspirations: the UK, Thom Browne for Brooks Brothers Black Fleece, Bright Star dandy factor

Style Watch: Derby/Bowler Hats

I've been waiting for bowler hats to make a comeback as an acceptable accessory (acceptories) to wear in public and not just in the streets of Williamsburg in an ironic fashion. So thank you, Robert Geller, for including them full force in your Fall 2010 collection.

Inspirations: Magritte and Warren Beatty as McCabe (McCabe & Mrs. Miller, 1971)
