Style Watch: Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011
Known for his bold colors and Mondrian-inspired color blocks, Raf Simons presented a 80s palette explosion wed with simple silhouettes a Milano . For the record, I couldn't wear over half of this collection but I appreciate the clean lines and use of drama sans over-embellishments, bling by color if you will. If I were ever to don a neon Easter egg pastel perfectly tailored suit, Jil & Raf will be on speed dial. All eyes on clean tailoring, detonations of color, and belted coats (oh yes, and Benjamin Button 13-year-old-faced men).

Note: it's entirely possible that this collection was inspired by the Maui & Sons logo.

Style Watch: Haider Ackermann S/S 2011
Presented in Milan. Some people call it resort, some people call it spring/summer. I call it draped-kimono-Hugh-Hefner-robe-layered-for-days beautiful confusion.

Style Watch: Alexander McQueen Suitage
Although usually inclined to slim tailoring, I love this suit- especially the hidden placket and asymmetrical pant hem. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull off the loose fit with my small stature.

Stars in my Eyes: Oliver Peoples Gets Wood
Last year was cute-as-a-button Zooey Deschanel. This year is perpetually baby-faced Elijah Wood (AKA Huckleberry Finn from one of the best 1993 movies of all time) who jumps on the seemingly-indie-movie-actor-for-Oliver-Peoples-ad-campaign band wagon. The question still remains: which came first - the au naturel scruffy chested European...the Bushwick hipster...the Bright Eyes-obsessed Mid Westerner...or the egg?

And now, as a hump day treat, I present to you my favorite Elijah Wood on crack and ecstasy look-a-like:

Style Watch: Cutting Edge Accessories
My country tis of thee...God, I love America. Until midnight on June 17th, you can buy your very own axe from Best Made Co at Gilt Man. Designed in New York and tested in Canada, they range from $90 to $220. I knew flannel and denim was making a comeback but who knew the Paul Bunyan trend would exceed my wildest expectations. I'm waiting for blue oxen to go from has-been to gotta-have-now. Fall 2012? Well, for now, bye bye stress: now I know what my new Fall 2010 accessory will be.
